6 Months - Happy Half Birthday Emmett

My sweet Emmett,
This month you have conquered the accomplishment of sitting up all by yourself! It is pretty amazing seeing you progress baby boy. You even already are trying to pull yourself up in your crib.  We rarely watch tv but when we do you love Curious George (probably because you are a little monkey too). Emmett you have also started drinking water out of a sippy cup! You don't always get it in your mouth correctly but when you do you are a happy boy. You especially love it in your stroller while momma works out! You also got to celebrate your Dad's birthday this month. Grandma watched you while we went out to a comedy show for a much needed night out. You also went to your first brewery, Saint Archer Brewery!  You loved it so much you were trying to drink dad's beer! I think it made him proud ;) We went to the library for the first time this month and you loved it! We also went for a story & rhyme time which you couldn't stop smiling at.  Emmett, you have your first girlfriend I think ;)  Her name is Ava. She has brown hair and the prettiest blue eyes I ever did see! You guys love seeing each other and going on runs together at Stroller Strides, playing on momma's mat with her, going swimming, and going to story time together! Just another half a year to go till your birthday!!!! I can't believe its almost here.

NOTE: Next baby, do not take pictures with a note card next to the baby. Now that Emmett is 6 months he notices it and wants to eat it!

HE DID IT!!!

I am excited to announce that Andrew is now a CFA Charterholder!
For those of you that know him well, you know that for the past 4 years he has been taking these tests. It has been a tough and long journey but it is finally over! I would walk in on him studying and literally want to barf at how difficult the formulas were that he was studying....I really have no idea how he did it! I think I got a smarty!  So to celebrate, we had a bottle on Cristal (we got it as a gift for our wedding and we were supposed to drink it our wedding night but I grabbed the wrong bottle).  It is a surreal feeling that he is actually done.  No more 5 hour a day weekend studying! Time to get life back to normal. A vacation might be in our near future ;)

5 Months

My sweet Emmett,
You are turning into quite the little eater! So far you have tried oatmeal, peas, and sweet potatoes and you have loved them all! Each week we are trying something new baby! I need to figure out what is next, maybe we will move on and try a fruit.  Emmett, your new nickname has become 'Shark Bite' because your two bottom teeth have just come in and they are ohhh so sharp! At least they don't seem to be affecting you too much.  Ohhhh sweet baby you have also just learned to roll from back to stomach and you do it so quickly! Now I really can't take my eyes off of you for a second or even put you down cause I don't know where you will end up! Soon you will be running we think. You sure do love to kick those legs. This month you went swimming for the first time and you loved it! You sure are a little water baby! It's so cute. When we hold you on your belly and push you through the water you kick your legs so much that it looks like you are swimming...watch out Michael Phelps! This month you also got to go to your first wedding and meet most all of your cute little cousins!!! All of them loved meeting you so much and playing peek-a-boo over and over and over again! You are going to be a talllllll boy! 99% for height. Yikes! Basketball might be in your future (which is alright with me!)

P.S. You are the ultimate snuggler ;)

A new adventure

After Emmett's 4 month check up we started him on Oatmeal and he found a new love for food!!!!! So much so that he tries to sit up while drinking his bottle sometimes.  When we started to feed him solids I was so nervous, just the thought of smashed peas all over the floor, in his clothes, basically everywhere kind of scared me. I was pleasantly surprised that I have a pretty clean eater (so far that is).  So after about a week of him eating the oatmeal twice a day it was time to move onto bigger and better things!  Last night we adventured into vegetables!!!! PEAS! I started by steaming 2 cups of peas, then I put them in the food processor and added water.  Once it was nice and mushy for baby I popped it in an ice cube tray and in the freezer.  Emmett's first bite of any food is not the most appetizing look he has on his face but after a few bites he really enjoyed the peas. Especially when it was mixed with the oatmeal.  I think we will try sweet potatoes in a week!
